Smarthouse App

UI/UX Mobile/Tablet

01          BACKGROUND

As electrical devices become more prominent in our everyday lives, so is the means to control them more easily.

The use of "Smarthouse" apps became more convenient, letting the user connect every device into one place and control his house remotely.

02           GETTING STARTED

THE OBJECTIVE - Making a friendly and easy-to-use "Smarthouse" app for mobile and tablet devices, keeping the user's strong sense of control over his or her home.

THE CHALLENGE - There's a lot of information a "Smarthouse" app needs to present to its user in the most coherent and accessible way.

Target Audience

CONCLUSION

The app will communicate with the user through a variety of icons and simple colors.

Information will be organized by user-defined rooms, with emphasis on giving quick access to important actions.

Each section in the interface was meant to feel like its own "world".

For example - The Homepage will give you quick actions to all rooms, from there "Living Room" will give you quick actions to all devices in the room, and "Front Light" will let you customize the actions.

THE MOBILE VERSION

The devices are categorized by user-defined rooms, which can be collapsed for convenient scrolling.

By tapping on the desired icons, the user can immediately turn a device on and off (notified by the change of colors), and also see which device was assigned by what "Scenario".

"Show Full Details" leads to the "Room Page".

On this screen, the user is presented with the most used and immediate options for each device.

The blue arrows lead to the "Device Page".

This page has access to extended options and customization for the device, also letting the user assign "Scenarios" through automatic actions activated by sound, movement, timer and more.

THE TABLET VERSION

Naturally, converting the app for a tablet proved to be much more spacious.

Statistics are now shown on the front page, instead of one of the inside pages.

Full Scenarios are now presented in the same page after assigning them for immediate feedback!
